BCO Leadership Workshop

Playing in an orchestra is an example of teamworking. While a musician can be competent at performing as a soloist, being an effective player within an orchestra requires different set of skills.
The Bangkok Charity Orchestra Leadership Workshop (BCOLW) is designed to train aspiring young musicians to develop leadership and communication skills while playing in an orchestra. Each workshop gives musicians opportunity to lead his/her section. The objectives are to train each musician to be more responsive and involved in the orchestra, to work as a team to achieve a common goal, and to listen and be aware of other players.
Benefits from the workshops include:
- experience in being a section leader
- enhanced leadership and communication skills
- getting to learn new repertoires
- network with other aspiring young musicians
The workshop is open to all young musicians and is FREE to all BCO members. The fee for non-members is 500 baht per workshop (free if you are not taking part as a section leader in the workshop).
The workshop is conducted at the Robinson School of Music. Each workshop, we will either explore new repertoire or build on the music from the previous workshop. Two players from each section will take turn to lead at each workshop (one hour each). Occasionally, the workshop will be in a form of masterclass delivered by various experts in the field.
